I’ve now worked within the travel industry for an incredible 17 years! My first ever position was working for Sky Travel (The first resort) – I joined the company with no travel experience but quickly fell in love with the industry and knew it was the career for me.
Sky Travel was bought out by TUI and unfortunately closed down, so I then moved onto Hays Travel working as a home-worker. I then decided to start my own travel business specialising in Nile Cruises. The business was successful for a few years but then trouble in Egypt meant that Nile Cruises were no longer a viable business so I moved to a company called Holiday Gems, where I sold all products including long haul tailor made and cruise.
My Top 5 Destinations
Thailand: I’m somewhat of a Thailand addict, having now been 8 times and done extensive travel throughout the region. If you are looking to visit Thailand for the first time and need help and advice on where to go, I’m your go-to man!
Cuba: Whilst I’m not a massive fan of Caribbean beach breaks for my own holidays, I did fall utterly in love with Cuba. It has a vibe like no other and Havana felt like stepping into another world entirely!
Maldives: On paper, the Maldives sounds like my worst nightmare, as I’m not a fan of doing nothing. But as soon as I stepped onto the white sands of a beautiful Maldivian island, my perception of relaxation was redefined and I had the most amazing time!
Costa Del Sol: I lived in Malaga for several years (whilst working from home for Hays Travel) – the place always has a special place in my heart and I go back regularly (and plant to retire there).
Gambia: I’ve done a lot of Africa travel including Safaris in Kenya, but it was the Gambia that made me feel like I had experienced true Africa. The people offer a welcome like nowhere else in the world and you are reminded to appreciate the simple things in life.
