Palma Nova & Magaluf were the very first holiday resorts in Majorca, and are still to this day the most visited of the Majorca Beach resorts. Palma Nova caters more towards families that still want a lively holiday, whilst Magaluf is popular with the young and lively crowds.
In both resorts you will find endless bars, restaurants and activities to keep holiday makers of all ages entertained. The restaurant scene is buzzing and new places cropping up all the time offering more choice for discerning diners.
The sandy beaches with shallow waters offer a safe environment for all the family to catch some rays, people watch and sip an ice cold cerveza.
In Magaluf, you’ll also find Western Water Park and Katmandu Park, with its 4D cinematic experiences – theme parks that visitors staying all over Majorca travel to enjoy.
Situated on the north of the island, around a 45 minute transfer from the airport, Alcudia makes a dream family holiday.
There are two sides to the resort of Alcudia. One side is inland between two beautiful crescent bays, and the other side overlooks the sandy shallow waters of Alcudia Bay. Between them, they offer unlimited amounts of excursions, water sports on the beaches, and enough bars and restaurants to eat and drink somewhere different every day of your holiday.
Be sure to check out Alcudia Old Town, with its narrow streets and quirky eateries, you will feel like you have taken a step back in time. Visit the old town on market day (Sunday & Tuesdays) and buy some of the tastiest and freshest fruit you’ll ever experience!
Calas de Mallorca has grown in popularity over the past decade, mainly due to the growing range of budget all inclusive resorts that the resort offers.
The resort on the whole is much quieter than the likes of Palma Nova or Alcudia, but still has a lovely beach and a handful of bars and restaurants to keep you fed and watered (if you decide to escape your all inclusive hotel).
The resort is modern, purpose built but still retains some Spanish charm – and if you are in the market for a cheap all inclusive family holiday, Calas de Mallorca tends to offer you the best value for money.
Sa Coma is a modern purpose built resort that caters best to families looking for a chilled beach holiday. The resort is compact, quiet and has a small but very stunning beach.
Sa Coma is a desirable resort and has a slightly more upmarket feel to some of its neighbors. Whilst it is very much purpose built, it is by no means over-developed,
The resort has a good array of facilities for holidaymakers: plenty of chilled bars, cafes and high standard restaurants to ensure you have a perfect majorca holiday.
The Sa Coma transfer time from Palma is around 90 minutes
With an air of sophistication and class, Cala D’or is a great choice for those wanting a Majorca resort with a cosmopolitan vibe.
When you visit Cala D’or now, it is hard to believe this stylish holiday destination used to be just a sleepy fishing village. Gorgeous secluded coves, marinas full of super Yachts and fine dining in an array of top class restaurants.
Beach lovers will be blown away by the resort’s 7 beaches! The main beach of Cala Gran (translates to Big Beach) – is where to head for the best choice of watersports and facilities. If you get bored of that beach, you have a different beach available for every day of your 7 day holiday!
Palma
No visit to Majorca is complete without a trip to the glamorous and chic capital. Whilst there, be sure to visit Palma Cathedral – built by the Crown of Aragon on the site of a Moorish-era mosque
The Caves of Drach
Take an excursion to the east coast of Majorca and visit these impressive caves, which are one of the island’s main tourist attractions and contain a large underground lake where you’ll enjoy a live classical concert.
