The most popular resort on Tenerife, a purpose built mecca of fun and activities. Whilst a lively place full of nightlife, it is still certainly suitable for families that prefer a livelier atmosphere too. Whilst not the most beautiful beaches in the world, the beaches Las Americas, Playa del Camison & Playa Troya offer plenty of space to sunbathe or try your hand at one of the many water sports that are on offer.
As soon as the sun sets, Playa de las Americas comes to life with music and beach bars, whilst the infamous club scene gets going much later and carry on to the early hours. Most of the nightlife is around Veronica’s strip, Starco and The Patch.
Food wise, Las Americas offers an excellent choice of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. Those looking for the traditional “Brit abroad” food are well catered for, but so too are those that like to sample the typical Canarian cuisine and Spanish tapas.
Once a little quaint fishing village, Los Cristianos has grown to be the Tenerife resort of choice for those looking for a classy beach holiday. Days are spent walking the spacious prom and sampling the fish & tapas restaurants, whilst evenings are lively but not invasive. Los Cristianos is also a shoppers paradise with high-end boutiques and designer outlets. Los Cristianos provides the perfect setting for a relaxing beach holiday in the sun.
A golfers paradise as the name suggests, Golf Del Sur is a small resort with only a handful of bars and no nightclubs. Many golfers choose to stay in the resort for its convenience to the many Golf Courses, and then take a 20 minute taxi into Playa de Las Americas should they require a livelier evening. The hotels in Golf Del Sur are of a high standard so if you are looking for a chilled out Spa break and not too bothered about nighlife, it is also a great option.
Often overlooked for the resorts in the south, Puerto de la Cruz offers a more traditional “Spanish” holiday and cosmipolitan vibe. Situated in the North of the Tenerife, the resort is ideal for those that like an active holiday (Mount Teide National Park is right on your doorstep). A must to-do for your trip to Puerto de la Cruz is a visit to Loro Parque, a wonderful theme park which offers a wide range of sea creatures and exotic animals.
